Founder, Trail Builder, Event Organiser
Alfons’ passion for cycling sparked the opening of the store back in 2013 — and it’s been growing ever since. With deep mechanical expertise, he’s become a trusted name among cyclists along the coast, always ready with advice, solutions, and trail tips.
Drawing from his motocross background, Alfons brings a sharp eye and fearless spirit to Swakopmund’s trail scene, helping discover, shape, and maintain the paths locals love to ride. Beyond the tools and terrain, his heart lies in building the cycling community — organizing events for all ages and disciplines, from kids’ fun races to gravel grinds and fast-paced crits.
Marco
Bike Technician
Marco has been passionately working on bikes since he was a kid — what started as a childhood obsession has grown into nearly 20 years of hands-on experience. Today, he’s the go-to technician for riders who want their bikes performing at their absolute best.
With a background in competitive racing and BMX, Marco understands what bikes go through — and what they need to ride like new. He’s trained through certified online courses and hands-on workshops in South Africa, equipping him to handle everything from precision tuning to complex repairs. Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a serious racer, Marco offers reliable, expert service with the care only a lifelong cyclist can provide.
Sakkie
Bike Technician, Event Helper
Sakkie has been part of the team from the very beginning, bringing quiet confidence and hands-on skill to every bike that comes through the workshop. He started out working with Alfons at his previous business, and when the cycle shop opened, he jumped in and never looked back. Over the years, he’s learned the ropes directly from Alfons and a range of experienced technicians, developing into a dependable and detail-focused mechanic. Whether it’s a basic service or a tricky repair, Sakkie gets it done right — with care, precision, and pride.
